About Von Trapp Farmstead

The Von Trapp family has run their farmstead in Waitsfield, Vermont since 1959. They practice regenerative farming methods and care deeply about cultivating a diverse ecosystem. Now four generations of Von Trapp children have grown up on the farm, playing in the barns and being carted around from one farm chore to another with their parents. The family’s lives are interwoven with the animals and the land, and that connection shows in how much care they put into everything on their farm. In 2009 the Von Trapp family began making cheese, drawing on the family’s Austrian roots for recipe inspiration. The result is this gorgeous collection of cheeses we are so excited to carry!
