In 2014 Fons Smits and Laura Davenport started Tulip Tree in Indianapolis, IN. Fons is from the Netherlands and has worked as a consultant for some of Americas greatest cheesemakers. Working with the milk from a 6th generation, local, grass-based dairy, Fons makes European style cheeses with a distinctly American twist.
